Herbal Medicine and Nutrition
What is herbal medicine?
Herbal medicine been used for centuries by many different cultures to treat and prevent almost every disease. Medicinal herbs contain ingredients that, when used correctly, support the body's natural ability to heal. The pharmaceutical industry began to isolate these active ingredients and made them available in a purified form, known to us as pharmaceutical medicines/drugs.
Herbalists use herbs differently. We know that the plants also contain other compounds that act synergistically to balance the actions of the herb. The combination of carefully chosen herbal extracts, dietary advice and lifestyle recommendations frequently proves effective in relieving ill health and promoting self -repair. Feeling better in ones self and improved vitality are often early results of treatment.
We prescribe herbs specific to your individual needs, in the form of a tincture (liquid), tablet or capsule, and teas. We also use Bach flower essences to enhance the treatment.
